Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor also known as a producer, director and actress. Her name has been acknowledged for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her film Piano was awarded an Oscar. The talented actress began her career in acting by performing on stage, by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. Acting has always been her passion. When she was in fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original production. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in one ear. However, she did not allow this to stop her from becoming an actress. She was a drama major at the college before moving between Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her goals. The first time she appeared in a film was following her move to Los Angeles. For the past 30 years she's appeared in many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
