Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is a famous American actor and producer. She has been recognized for her outstanding performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for the movie Piano. Her acting career began on Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. Enthusiastic about acting from the time she was in school, she portrayed Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. As a result of having mumps, she became blind on the other side the ear. But, it did not stop her ambition to become an actor. In college she studied theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. After a casual encounter, she was stuck in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart and was Hunter's first performance. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. She landed one as an actress who played the leading character Swing Shift. In the three decades since her time in Los Angeles she has appeared involved in numerous series and television films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star as well as a winner of the Women in Film Lucy Award.
